Technical & Advanced Technical Diver Courses
Entry-Level Technical Configuration

Sidemount Open Water Diver
- Learn to configure and dive side-mounted primary cylinders instead of back-mount.
- Minimum 3 open-water dives covering equipment setup, gas management, trim/buoyancy, SMB deployment and varied entries.
- Prerequisite: Open Water Diver.
Own a system already? We’ll fine-tune it together. Rentals are Razor harnesses—my personal choice.

Razor Sidemount Open Water Diver
- A standardized Razor curriculum that sharpens any sidemount diver’s skill-set—perfect for future technical and cave training.
- Prerequisite: Open Water Diver and personal Razor harness.
Core Technical Foundations
Decompression Procedures Diver
- Plan and execute safe decompression dives, integrate dive-planning software, and practise emergency / backup protocols. Commonly paired with Advanced Nitrox for accelerated deco using >40 % O₂.
- Prerequisite: Advanced Diver.
Advanced Nitrox Diver
- Gateway to technical diving: use nitrox mixes up to 100 % O₂ within no-decompression limits. Ideal when combined with Intro-to-Tech or Sidemount.
- Prerequisites: Open Water + Nitrox Diver.
Overhead Environment Progression
Overhead Environment Progression
1.
Cavern Diver
- First step into overheads (day-light zone). Focus on configuration, trim, propulsion, conservation and guideline procedures—back-mount or sidemount accepted.
- Prerequisite: Open Water Diver, 25 logged dives.
2.
Intro-to-Cave Diver
- Advance beyond the cavern line while staying on the main guideline. Includes lost-line, lost-buddy, “S” drills, and advanced communication.
- Prerequisite: Cavern Diver (with me, or other agency + one evaluation day).
3.
Full Cave Diver
- Complex navigation (jumps, Ts, circuits), restriction mindset, and decompression-in-cave limits. Most dives mirror real-world exploration—plan extra days to enjoy new systems post-course.
- Prerequisite: Intro-to-Cave (with me, or other agency + evaluation day).
Specialized Technical Cave Training

Cave Sidemount Diver
- Refine sidemount techniques for tighter passages: additional redundancy, advanced gas planning beyond the rule of thirds, multiple entry styles, and psychological considerations.
- Prerequisite: Certified sidemount + cave diver, plus evaluation day. (3 days / 6 dives, ≥4 in cave.)

Cave Stage Diver
- Carry and manage additional stage cylinders to extend range; plan decompression obligations and strategic tank drops—mandatory for DPV Cave Diver.
- Prerequisite: Full Cave Diver (with me or equivalent) + evaluation day.

Advanced Sidemount Cave Diver
- Train for restrictive, low-visibility, multi-restriction systems requiring gear removal and full team autonomy. Few instructors hold this rating; the curriculum is tailored to Yucatán’s solution-caves.
